Advanced Software Engineer in Test

We have an immediate need for a Software Engineer for our facility in Bloomington, MN.  Our Advanced Software Engineer in Test conducts or participates in the test planning, documentation and development of Software Qualification.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related technical field is required (or equivalent experience), plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Masters’ degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.


REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

Responsibilities may include the following:
• Write software test plan, software test procedures, demonstration procedures, and software test reports.
• Prepare and submit contractual documents
• Lead Test Readiness Review with the customer
• Prepare and present SQT information
• Perform software qualification testing. Address quality and customer concerns
• Track and update requirements using DOORS requirements management tool
• Participate in the full software development test life-cycle
• Implement Embedded software in C and C++
• Develop system level and network programming solutions
• Integrate and test software and systems

• Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needs
• Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the General Dynamics Mission Systems culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures
• Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure General Dynamics Mission Systems' services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Candidates must show a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of software systems and applications, and the ability to effectively manage, grow and evolve software solutions.

Candidate must also have significant experience with the following:
• C and C++
• Embedded Software development
• Linux
• DOORS

In addition, the following are highly desired:
• Demonstrated experience working on a SCRUM Agile development team
• Experience with PetaLinux

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Experience/Knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
• Experience developing in Xilinx SDK on Eclipse
• Experience in Test Automation, Scripting, Unit Testing
• Experience with Ethernet
• Experience with SNMP, Uboot, Flash programming
• Network Programming (Internet Protocol version 4/6)
• Experience using Agile Backlog management tools like RTC
• Experience programming and debugging software on MicroBlaze
• Experience with Make files
• Experience with Parasoft Static Analysis tool and unit testing tool
