We have a current 6 month+ contract opening in the Minneapolis, MN area for a Mechanical Engineer with Creo expertise to join a team of engineers.

Mechanical Engineers engaged in Electronic Packaging perform design and development of high-assurance, ruggedized combat systems, including mission computers, other platform computers and controllers, signal processors and related electronic components for manufacturing production.

Additional Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical design and development associated with packaging electronic circuit card assemblies into a military environment chassis. Position requires a broad mechanical knowledge in such areas as requirements definition, thermal and structural design and analysis, production support and environmental testing support.  This position requires a self-starter, able to translate customer requirements into a cost-effective design that is optimized for manufacturing and periodic operational maintenance.  Candidate must be a proficient Creo (formerly Pro/E) user for packaging electronic circuit board assemblies into an enclosure to meet mechanical, thermal, shock, vibration, size, weight and power requirements of a military environment. Candidate must have a good working knowledge of thermal modeling and analysis for cooling electronic systems.  Must be able to multitask and prioritize while dealing with several projects.


 • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

 • Must possess excellent Creo skills for design capture and model generation
 • Candidates will be asked to demonstrate their Creo working skills in a live computer environment
 • Experience with PDMLink
 • Experience with thermal/structural analysis packages such as ANSYS-Icepak and Pro Mechanica
 • Working experience with liquid cooling of electronic assemblies
 • Generation of formal drawings for release into a PDMLink system, electronic sign-off, delivery to manufacturing for parts ordering and assembly of new units
 • Experience and working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
 • Strong working knowledge of high reliability design of electronic assemblies for harsh environments
 • Knowledge of PWB layout and construction and interface to mechanical design
 • Experience creating sheet metal, weldments, machine parts and assembly models from engineering concepts
 • Connector and cable assembly concepts and terminology
 • Contribute to product planning, execution, status measurement and reporting
Physical Requirements:
 • Ability to work 9-hour days
 • Primary work equipment is a CAD PC workstation and whiteboard. (No other equipment is normally used)
 • Ability to move around to meetings within building
 • Frequent internal conversations with others regarding assignment details

Qualifications (Preferred)
 • Previous aerospace industry experience is a plus
 • Electronics industry experience is a plus
